On June 11th, local Culligan dealer Culligan Water Conditioning of Syracuse, NY, donated 45 five-gallon jugs of water to the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure cycling event in Verona Beach, NY. Culligan provided water to keep Tour de Cure participants hydrated and to encourage a healthy lifestyle through clean water.
“Culligan was great, very helpful, and on time with the pickups and drop offs. The event was on an extremely hot day and Culligan provided enough water for everyone, who came and went from water stations frequently,” said Doris Delvalle, ADA representative.
485 cyclists participated in the event, raising over $150,000. With temperatures reaching a high of 87°, Culligan’s water donations contributed to the event’s success, keeping cyclists and bystanders hydrated.
The Tour de Cure is the largest cycling event for diabetes in the country. Each year, nearly 50,000 people participate in Tour de Cure events in 80 cities across the county, raising nearly $30 million dollars to support the mission. The event is a unique opportunity for businesses, clubs, friends and families to come together to form teams with a vision of a life free of diabetes and all its burdens.
“Not only can we donate water to a great cause, but we hope to create awareness and inspire people to maintain healthy lifestyles and fight against the impact of obesity and type 2 diabetes,” said Michael Karr, Culligan of Syracuse Owner.
