The Culligan dealership of Winnipeg, Manitoba has been owned and operated by the Stewart family for 3 generations (1956- present). They are committed to supporting their community and are involved in many charities and initiatives. And, they encourage the support, involvement and participation from the many members of their own Culligan team.
This past year they have supported and contributed to various charitable events in their local community which all represent the values that Culligan holds high.
During a winter storm, snow and high winds knocked out power around the Lake of the Woods area including Shoal Lake 29. After several days with no power or water and secluded from any major city. Local school principal Christine Chan was concerned about the elderly and students in the area, so she made a trip to Winnipeg to find key supplies. Culligan Winnipeg heard about their situation and reached out to help. They provided the victims of the storm with clean, safe drinking water, and loaded as many bottles that could fit in Christine’s vehicle.
For the past 3 years Culligan Winnipeg has contributed to the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre Black and White Ball. Proceeds raised from the event support the facility and the theatre’s programs as well as youth education enrichment programs and scholarships to assist emerging Manitoban artists with their education.
This past weekend Culligan Winnipeg also participated and made generous donations to the Cruisin’ Down the Crescent. Cruisin’ Down the Crescent has taken place annually for 23 years. Participants of the event trek 4km (2.5 miles) quenching their thirst with Culligan Water along the way. Proceeds from this fundraising event benefit the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to helping children and youth with disabilities live as independently as possible, providing services and outreach therapy for those with a range of physical and developmental challenges. This weekend the event raised over $171,000. Team members from Culligan Winnipeg, participated in the event and supported future Culligan member Zach Gallagher, son of General Manager Matt Stewart.
Culligan Winnipeg recognizes the importance of community and the impact businesses can have on individuals and organizations. Like many Culligan dealers, Winnipeg is proud to sponsor many local non-profit groups and are happy to deliver products and services for a good cause.
