JDRF recently recognized Culligan of Greater Cincinnati for their support in their 2014 JDRF Newport Walk to Cure Diabetes on Saturday, September 6th. Over 1800 walk participants enjoyed the water donated by Culligan of Great Cincinnati at the fluid stations set up along the route. In addition, Culligan associates helped as volunteers along the route not only offering water, but support and encouragement.
Culligan General Manager, Russ Vermillion, said “This is a very debilitating disease, but once caught and medicated is controllable. Several members of our Culligan family have been diagnosed with the disease, so we understand the importance of education and research. We are honored to be part of this very worthy cause.”
Providing the fluid stations for the event allowed JDRF to allocate additional funds towards diabetes research to offer real hope to the 1.3 million people who suffer from type 1 diabetes and its complications.
JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, policy influence and a working plan to bring life-changing therapies from the lab to the community.
